Here’s how it works:

The Freo Pro uses carpet-friendly technology to clean your carpets without damage.

Here’s how it works:

  • Precision Sensors: Uses advanced ultrasonic sensors to detect carpets accurately— no mistaking tile gaps or hardwood floors for carpets.
  • Auto-Raise Mop: Lifts the mop 12mm when crossing carpets to avoid wetting or staining them.
  • Power Boost: Automatically increases suction for deep cleaning on carpets without using the mop.

Important Notes:

The default setting avoids carpets to protect them. To enable carpet cleaning, go to the app and turn on Carpet Mode. The steps are: Map Editing > Carpet > Clean the Carpet.

  • Works Best On: Carpets under 20mm thick with pile height ≤ 0.7cm. Thicker or denser rugs (like rubber-backed ones) may not be detected properly.
  • Safety First: If your carpets exceed the limits, turn OFF carpet mode in the app to avoid issues.

Yes. The Freo Pro has cliff sensors to spot stairs and ledges. Here is a Checklist for Stair Safety:

  • Check Stairless Mode: Ensure Stairless Mode is turned off if you have stairs. Go to Settings> General> Stairless mode and disable it.
  • Create No-Go Zones for Stairs: For stairs under 10 cm, create a no-go zone (Map > Map Editing > No-Go Zones) in the app to prevent the robot from going near them.

Due to different household environments and debris, side brushes may wear differently. Please check for frayed bristles, damage, or hair tangling before use. Replace it if bristles are worn or damaged.

  • Use scissors to cut and remove tangled hair.
  • Check for frayed bristles before reinstalling.

Cleans better than I do

Beware as this vacuum will make you lazy and never clean again because it's just that good. I've tried a number of robot vacuums over the years, albeit cheaper ones, but chose the Narwal as my machine of choice for my basement. Narwal has a number of models that all looked great, but this seemed to hit my sweet spot in terms of features and value. The first thing to be aware of is is that this thing is heavy! That is not a bad thing at all though, as I feel like the build quality and materials of both the station and the vacuum itself is very solid which adds to that heft. The look of the unit is also great. I'm a big fan of all white as opposed to the black I see with most others and I don't feel bad about keeping the vacuum visible even when guests come over. If anything, l've had people look at it like it's a spaceship haha.

The setup is very intuitive. Everything runs through the app and it was very easy to connect. The vacuum first mapped out my basement and i followed this up with a deep vacuum and mop cleaning. I was shocked by how much it picked up and it did a great job compressing all the gunk as well. I activated the Freo Mind feature, which uses tech to detect which areas need deeper cleans than others. Great option to save power and make sure everything is always in good shape. The app itself offers a lot of customizability which has been fun to play around with.

The biggest reason I junked all my other robot vacuums in the past was because they were just not effective to use. They would get caught on things so I could never run them when I left the house, and they were simply not great at picking up stuff on the floor. The Freo Pro is different as it genuinely has replaced my weekly basement clean and is not just a gimmick like my others before. It has been easy to run and maintain so far and I think Narwal has a winner on their hands with this robot.

I was skeptical about spending this much on a vacuum/mop robot, but the NARWAL Freo Pro has honestly been worth every dollar. I’ve had a few robot vacuums over the years, and this one just does everything better.

Good vac mop, I recommend it

I love this little robot. I don’t have time or energy to sweep and mop my entire house. I have 5000 ft.² and it’s just a lot of floor. I have three dogs two really long-haired dogs and they keep the floor a ginormous fuzzy mess. This little vacuum has really helped. I can’t praise it enough. I can set it off every day automatically I just need to change the water which is easier than mopping this floor. I also have kids who are well… kids, always a sticky mess on the floor. my pet peeve is dirty floors. This vacuum mop has really helped me and my floors. I would recommend it. I got the lower end version. There are higher versions that automatically mix the cleaning solution, but considering I have to change the dirt water and refill the clean tank at least 4 times for a full clean of all floors, I didn’t see the need to pay for the extra plug in solution. I can add it as I go. This version of the Narwal works really well. I am very happy with the purchase.
